NEW ZEALAND CENTRE FOR CONSERVATION MEDICINE
A three year full-time residency and research masters programme is offered at the New Zealand Centre for Conservation Medicine in conjunction with Murdoch University School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. The programme involves post-graduate course work, a research dissertation and clinical work in all aspects of zoo medicine and wildlife conservation fieldwork.
Our current resident Dr Bethany Jackson started with the team in July 2010 and is leading our Island’s EcoHealth Project. Click for more details.
The NZCCM also host Murdoch University Postgraduate Veterinary Students studying for the Certificate in Conservation Medicine. This is a one-month field placement where students gain hands on experience in wildlife and zoo medicine. Students also undertake a practical Conservation Medicine project throughout their placement.
